The state is fairly large and has a lot of tourism every year. The state is known for its cool towns, and cities along the beach. Many people live near the beach areas, and many like to live more near the mountains. The name Carolina comes from Charles IX of France and the others before him. The state flower is the Carolina yellow jasmine, and the capital of South Carolina is Columbia.
